KUALA LUMPUR, 3 August (Malaysiaaktif) – Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has insisted that the piece of Boeing 777 debris found on Reunion Island that is linked to the same type of aircraft as the long-missingMH370 is yet to be verified.

“Whether it is from MH370, it is yet to be verified. I want to emphasise that verification can only be done on Wednesday,” he said to reporters at a media conference in Seri Kembangan.

The minister said they are getting the help and cooperation needed for the process.

“Additional Team officials have headed to France, to work with the French Government to examine the wreckage and determine whether it belongs to the plane, while the second team went to Reunion Island to look for more debris.”

He urged the people not to speculate and wait for official announcement from the authorities.

“It is simple as that, do not speculate, we must verify the wreckage is from MH370, as all of you know these speculation cause people a lot of stress, especially those waiting for news,” he added.
