World Universities Debating Championship 2016/2017, hosted in Holland.
The UiTM debate team (also known as UT MARA) has reached the Semi-Finals of the main category at the World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) 2016/2017.
This is the first time in Malaysia’s debating history that a team has made it this far. Only 2-3 Asian teams have ever made it this far in the tournament’s 35+ year history.
UiTM ranked 2nd overall team -just behind Oxford – after the preliminary rounds to qualify for the knock-out rounds and has made it to the Semi-Finals, beating Harvard, Cambridge and other world’s best universities.
The team, represented by Mifzal Muhammad & Jasmine Abdullah, have certainly made Malaysia proud.
More than 350 teams are participating in WUDC 2016/17, and is the most prestigious in the world.
